The Maryland Out of School Time Network is comprised of community members and groups campaigning for expanded funding, more effective policies, and increased program quality to ensure all young people in Maryland have access to activities in the out of school hours that enable them to achieve in all stages of their development. The network provides a place to exchange information, test out new ideas, share best practice information, and develop and implement a movement that successfully convinces policy makers to make the network’s goals a reality.

The network defines "Out of School Time" opportunities as the activities provided at all times when school is not in session. These activities will serve youth ages 5-19 year old (in school and out of school).  The activities provide safe places, encourage academic success, develop youth leadership, and nurture talents and interests so that young people can achieve in their own unique ways.
